Before you start
- A level with the shop's keycard door
- Something to carry
- A crew that can share what is behind it
Steps
- Expect the office door to be a locked and an unlocked state rather than a key you hold.
the keycard is kept in a locked and an unlocked state - Look for the door that belongs to the shop rather than any door.
the shop has a keycard door of its own - Read the panel rather than the handle: it is where the door answers you.
the door has its own panel, switches material when it opens and carries an unlock sound - Treat it as a physical door, because it is hung rather than a way of moving a player.
it is a hinged physical object with a level collider - Expect items to keep a state of their own once you are through.
items have a state of their own with a manager behind them - Toggle deliberately and check whether it turns itself off when put away.
an item can be toggled, with a toggle state, a sound and a rule about switching off when put away - Know whether a carried light is meant to stay on.
an item can carry a light with an intensity curve and a setting for staying on - Watch how loud a tool is, because it has its own level.
an item carries a sound level of its own, with types including one for items from the secret shop
Common mistakes
- Hunting for a key item when the door answers to a locked and unlocked state.
- Yanking the door instead of using its panel.
- Leaving a tool switched on and putting it away.
- Carrying a light that was never set to stay on.
