Keeping the batteries alive
How to keep the battery-powered gear in R.E.P.O. running across a run, using the batteries and the charging station the game already provides.
Applies to
0.4.0, read from the copy of the game this site was built from (see the sources page)
Before you start
- Battery-powered gear in the crew
- A charging station in the shop
- Enough room to carry spares
Steps
- Check what is running down before you leave the shop.
battery-powered equipment has a visual state for its charge - Take spares rather than one battery between you.
batteries are carried items rather than a shared resource - Leave the charging station where you will come back to it.
the station is an object you place in the shop - Work out which of your gear drains fastest and plan around it.
equipment carries its own drain setting - Treat a battery upgrade as gear rather than a consumable.
one of the upgrades is a battery itself
Common mistakes
- Setting out with one battery between the whole crew.
- Leaving gear switched on when nobody is using it.
- Forgetting the charging station is in the shop rather than in the level.
