The potions you can find

Four potions are named as kinds of valuable in their own right.

Some of R.E.P.O.'s valuables are potions rather than props: the game names four of them as kinds of their own, alongside a boxed cauldron and a rattle of pills, and builds each one from the parts its effect needs.

What the game establishes

In play

Most of the loot you carry is an object. A few of the valuables are potions, and each potion is named as a kind of its own rather than being one bottle with a set of colours.

The levitation potion carries a sphere. A part for levitation is its own piece of the object, which is how a potion can do something to the crew instead of only sitting on the floor.

The small potion holds a health pool and a healing aura, and it breaks into particles when it is spent. That is what makes it the one in the group whose job is to give health back.

The spider potion is built around a reaction. It has particles for being destroyed, a second set of particles and a second set of sounds for a player who would rather not look at spiders, and it also shows particles on the other players. It draws an effect across the screen as well.

The pills belong with the rest even though they are not a bottle: the game gives them two sounds, a long rattle and a short one.

The boxed cauldron arrives packed. The box and the cauldron are separate parts of it, with cardboard and bits as particles when it comes apart, a sound for the break and its own physical sound, which is why a cauldron can be carried as loot and opened on the floor.

The two images beside this entry are the game's own: the colour artwork it ships for the levitation potion, and the printed side of the boxed cauldron.

What this entry does not tell you: what any potion is worth, how long an effect lasts, or how much health the small potion gives back. We have not verified those numbers, so we do not print them.
